Ages served
This program is open to children ages 5-12 years old. Children will be accepted into the program on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Dates of operation
The "Active Mind/Active Body" program will be in session from June 13th thru August 24st. For specific dates of holiday closings please refer to the school calendar. Due to some fixed costs averaged over the entire year, there will be no reduction in tuition for holidays.
Transportation
It is the parent's responsibility to coordinate transportation for their children to and from school.
Our Program
The "Active Mind/Active Body" program will include a variety of activities for the children. We want the children to enjoy themselves while at Bethel Christian School and yet provide an environment to keep their minds challenged.
We will take field trips during the summer program. Some of these trips will be all day events while others will be short and local. For these trips, we may ask you to be a chaperone. Some of the field trips might require an extra fee for admission and/or transportation. For the younger children (ages 5 & 6) some field trips might not be appropriate. However age appropriateness can be rather subjective. If a parent does not feel that his/her child should not attend a particular field trip (whatever the reason) the parent has the right to not allow the child to attend. No refunds will be issued if the parent chooses not to send his/her child during their scheduled days.
Snacks and Lunch
The students have a morning & afternoon snack and a lunch each day. Parents will be required to provide the food items for their children each day. However, we have drinks, and lunch items available for purchase at the school if you decide to use this option.
Rules of the school
In Proverbs 22:6, it says "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Bethel Christian School has purposely structured itself to have certain rules of conduct by its students and its staff. We feel that children learn best in an environment that is structured and predictable. We expect the children to have respect for themselves and others. When they address a teacher or any adult while at the school they are to address them as "Sir" or "Ma'am". No form of bad language will be permitted. Expressions of anger such as hitting, kicking and such are unacceptable. The Teachers and/or the Principal will speak to children who have broken the rules. The parents will be informed of any misbehavior. Children should be considered a gift from God. With that view in mind we desire to do our best to care for them the way God would want us to.
